My Horror Halloween Picks!

With Halloween just around the corner and the nights getting colder, there’s only one thing to do in my mind on a relaxing evening…and that’s scaring the sh*t out of yourself, maybe even to the point where you can’t sleep for the rest of the evening. Soooo this is a list of my top 15 scary films to watch. Some of them are just scary, some are weird, some are unnerving, and some are just horrific…take your pick! πŸ’πŸΌ

1. Insidious
2. The Unborn
3. Saw
4. The Woman in Black
5. The Amityville Horror
6. Silent Hill
7. Child’s Play
8. The Ring
9. The Decent
10. The Conjuring
11. The Grudge
12. The Exorcist
13. Pan’s Labyrinth
14. TheΒ Orphanage
15. Shaun of the Dead

Ok…so the last one isn’t that scary, but it’s a great film so I couldn’t leave it off! Anyway there’s the list, so have at it! I’m sure you’ll find something you like out of all them…or maybe not if you don’t like scary films…but at least you’ll have recommendations for your friends that do! πŸ˜‰ Β The best bit is that Netflix this year have a great selection of horror films and thrillers so you’ll find a lot of these suggestions at your fingertips…if you have Netflix. Anyway go enjoy, and try not to wet yourself! πŸ™ƒ

Summer Goals!

Summer is here once again, and out of all the seasons July is my favourite…maybe because I was born in this month. So to kickstart it, I’ve made a list of my summer goals!

-Go out more! ~ I am slowing becoming more and more of a hermit crab and it really needs to stop, everyone says your 20’s are the years for living life to the full and to be honest…I’m wasting them.
– Drink more ~ For a normal 23 year old I don’t drink as half as much as I should…and for a single 23 year old It’s even worse…plus if your going to drink in any month it might swell be my birthday month!
– Take more chances (for example in love) ~ Ugh. That’s the only thing I can say. I just need to.
– Go on adventures ~ Walking, hiking, driving, flying, heck even some of my dreams could have more adventures.
– Try running again ~ I tried this a few weeks ago for the first time in years. It hurt a lot…but I just need to persevere.
– Finish my book ~ Due to my current obsession with Netflix it’s hard to make time for anything else…but I started a book so this month, I. Shall. Finish. It!
– Go to a spa ~ I still haven’t been to a spa yet and heck I deserve some pampering! So where better to do it?
– Be better with money ~ I have been in my overdraft for ages now, so I really need to sort my shit out…like pronto.
– Be reckless ~ I mean I feel like this is self explanatory after my other points…I mean you could even say this list is a bit reckless due to not making this 10 bullet points and only 9…😜

Netflix, you’ve done it again!Β

So over the past week or so the internets been going a bit crazy over a new tv show called ’13 Reasons Why’ which has been aired on Netflix. For anyone who doesn’t know or hasn’t got around to watching it yet, the show is about a girl in high school who commits suicide. However before having done this she has recorded tapes listing 13 reasons/people that lead her to do this. I’d also like to add that this is adapted from a book. I haven’t read it but after watching this I probably will to see what had been changed or for need of a better word, adapted.

Without giving away spoilers or it being too heavy…I’d honestly say to watch it. No matter what your age, gender or background…watch it. There’s lessons to be learnt by everyone in it. Wether it’s just to be a bit kinder, consider what you say or do before you do it, or even if you just ignore rumours and think for yourself…we can all take something from this.

The show covers a lot of important issues for example bullying, loneliness, rape and of course suicide. All of which are dealt with by the director and actors appropriately.

I just personally couldn’t rate this any higher. I’ve mentioned before in blogs about how I believe judging people is bad and how you can never know completely what is going on inside a persons mind, and I think this is just such a true representation of this…which I think everyone should at least attempt to open their mind to.

So wether you decided to binge watch it all in one day, or spread it out over a few days. Give it a chance. Who knows, it might even change the way you see the world…at least in some areas.
