Music and Men

The other day I was in my car driving for about an hour with the radio on. On the radio the station was going though a variety of songs from the last few years, when the realisation hit that there was a number of songs that linked to my past. To be more precise they linked to men of my past.

You see memories are a funny thing. When they are created they can be linked to the silliest things like a certain scent or a location…but for me it seems to be music. I listen to music a lot. So when I listen to certain songs, sometimes the lyrics seem to fit the current situation perfectly and therefore the song then links to that person…or it could just be a case that the song was popular at that time and the radio played it constantly while I was around them.

Anyway like songs, men come and go through life. I guess it just depends if they turn out to be a one hit wonder or a classic that never gets old. But no matter what, when a certain song from the past hits my ears, the memories will play over in my mind of my relationship with that person. In some ways it’s good, and in some ways its bad…but memories are memories. Sometimes it’s nice to look back at what once was…

I wonder if anyone reading this knows their song…heck I wonder what songs people would link to me!

The Intern…

I first put this film on as a bit of a whim, as it had just been added to NowTV and I love a bit of Anne hathaway…and a bit of comedy, so I thought why not.

When it started I just thought it would really be a bit of background noise while I was doing other things, as it didn’t really capture me as much as I’d of liked. But once it got into it, I became more and more involved in the storyline.

It basically centres around a guy that’s retired, (without giving too much away) that finds life a bit boring. So he basically gets a job as a senior intern for a fashion company, not really sure as to what he’s doing but with tons of enthusiasm to learn pretty much anything and everything. Although the boss wasn’t entirely on board with this idea, he eventually works his way into the hearts of his colleagues and most importantly his boss…while tackling a few issues along the way (obviously).

Overall I really enjoyed the film. I found it had a refreshing storyline, mainly due to the usual roles being reversed. It really made a good watch, because let’s be honest the repeated storylines get a bit boring after a while. I don’t think I could fault this film really. The main casts were a great choice, and the roles were portrayed just the way they were intended.

I’d definitely recommend anyone to watch this if they like comedy films. Plus I mean who doesn’t like a bit of Robert De Niro…I actually think I have a new-found love for him now after watching this film…I might even look into other films he’s been in that I haven’t watched yet! We shall see…

The Time I Made A Joke…

You know how sometimes when your daydreaming, you slip into a deep place right in the back of your mind. For example the time I was looking at the ants on the floor and It spiralled into a thought that maybe we are just like ants. And as I’m looking down on them now, there’s people/things looking down on us…a bit like a mirror in a mirror, creating a continuous image getting smaller and smaller. So basically I was thinking about a higher intelligence (like aliens) which I know is possible but it’s also completely random for a Tuesday afternoon…I guess that’s what work does to us.

Anyway, so this was one of those times…only this time I was thinking about balls. Guys balls to be exact or testicles if you will. So getting to the point. I was thinking to myself, if guys have two balls…why aren’t they in individual bags? To which my brain then replied…’maybe they didn’t offer them two at the checkout’.

Yeaaahhhh I know, It’s bad. Shockingly bad. But I love them kind of jokes, dad jokes I call them. The wit I got from my dad of course didn’t help my cause. But you know I’ve come out a great person with a quick wit…even if like I say it is bad. So yeah that’s the joke I made. Copyright Natalie Oram. ✌🏼️

If you would like to share my joke to any of your male friends or family I have set up a scenario and wording for the joke below.

Scenario: Lazing around on anyway of the week with said male friend/family.

Hey Ted…If guys have two balls…why is there only one bag?..Did they not offer you two at the checkout? Ba dum bum chush.

Happy Tuesday! 🙈

5 Little Things…

There’s a lot of things that make me laugh…sometimes I even laugh over nothing. But it takes something special to make me laugh out loud.

The first thing I can think of is: Memories. Now I have to admit majority of these are embarrassing memories. Like the number of times I’ve physically walked into a wall time or the time I threw up purple puke at the Blue Lagoon…and on that note I shall move on…

The next thing is Animals. And for this one I just thank the lord for YouTube! I’ve mentioned this before, but I can sit for hours watching Animals videos. They just do the most stupid and funniest things. From the No no no cat to the talking dog video. I may even go as far to say this is a past time of mine that I pass down to my children.

Onto Number Three. Friends. Being a weird person, I tend to make friends with weird people. And that in itself can brighten up anyones day! From strange accents, to weird dances with a mop. Whenever I have a rough day I know they are there to get me close to peeing my pants with laughter.

Fourth on the List is Accidents. This one can be quite childish at times. It involves a lot of those moments where you know you shouldn’t laugh…but you do. The most common causes are: people slipping off the curb, hitting themselves in the face, or just walking into things. It’s ridiculous because if I did it I wouldn’t want people laughing…but It’s a natural response I guess.

The final thing that makes me laugh uncontrollably is Comedians. Now this mights be an obvious answer…but what is a comedian without the ability to make you laugh unexpectedly. My two favourite Comedians are Lee Evans and Michael McIntyre. I don’t know why but I seem to prefer male comedians…a lot of woman comedians just don’t seem to hit the spot. That might change the more I watch them though…so we will see.

It’s a strange thing laughter, sometimes you can’t control it, sometimes it’s polite and then other time’s it’s forced…You can never quite tell…

Dream Slut…

So in every relationship there are funny moments…yesterday I realised one of mine.

Now before I go ahead with this post I’d just like to say, I wouldn’t normally let anyone get away with calling me a slut…but on this occasion I’ll let it slide (although I shall begin planning my revenge).

I was talking to my boyfriend in the car and happened to mention about a dream I had the previous night where I slept with a YouTuber. You may think why would I tell him that? That reason being because I thought he would find this funny seen as he creates videos online too, and we both aspire to become YouTubers…however it appears I was wrong.

Now I admit this isn’t the first time I’ve willingly slept with someone in a dream…or even told him about it. And I say willingly because in a previous post I mentioned I occasionally have the ability to realise I’m in a dream and therefore can adapt it to suit me. Surprisingly he can also do the same. So because of that little fact, he felt it was acceptable to give this ‘twatish’ response…

He claimed that he also had a similar dream the previous night where a young lady had began to come onto him in a club, and lure him into her boudoir. However being the chivalrous and noble gentleman he is, he rejected her by informing her he had a girlfriend. Unlike and I quote! “The dream slut” he had in his car…

Within minutes the car we were travelling in became a comical couples courtroom, in which we were both fighting our sides of who was the better partner. Of course no one won as it was all built on sarcasm, but the overall point to be made here in this otherwise pointless blog post is simply…don’t take life too seriously. Funny little moments in relationships are the best, and you can always look back on them to brighten your day.
