Face Products of 2018…

I feel like I’ve said this before, but I am lazy when it comes to looking after my skin. Lord knows I didn’t do it any favours by eating a boatload of chocolate and drinking very little water in December…and throughout the start of this month. So to try to win it back over I have been using a few beauty products in the hope I can revive it.

• The Tea Tree 3 in 1 Wash, Scrub, Mask (The Body Shop £8.50)
I bought this back in November, when there was a 3 for 2 offer on at The Body Shop. I was first looking for a face mask, as I’d already picked up a exfoliator and a cleanser, but the fact that this wasn’t just a face mask was brilliant for me as like I’ve said I am lazy when it comes to this. So depending on how much time I have I’ll either wash my face with this, or instead I’ll put in on while I’m having a bath and effectively leave it on longer then I actually should. Either way it is now my go to, anything with Tea Tree is good for your skin anyway!

• T-zone Charcoal Black Peel Off Mask (Home Bargains…£1.99 possibly £0.99…either way it was a bargain 😏)
Following on with another face mask, for a while I couldn’t scroll through Facebook without seeing a video where someone had one of these on. Following the hype I decided to get one, but without splurging so I went to where everyone goes for a cracking deal…home bargains. It’s affordable and effectively does the job. Leave it on a little too long though and you will feel like your skin is being ripped off…does remove blackheads though!

• Soap & Glory: 3 in 1 Daily Vitamin C Facial Wash (Boots £8.00 or 3 for 2 if your feeling it 😉)
I feel like this is one of the products to just throw on your face whenever it needs a little pick me up (which at the minute is nearly every day). And as soon as you’ve done it, your skin is already feeling so much lighter and fresh. Hats off to soap and glory, they really know what they’re doing! Even the smell of it is incredible…not to mention I like my 3 in 1 products!

• Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser (Superdrug £3.45 on special offer at the minute!)
Oh look another charcoal product, who’d have thought it. This is a cleanser for the days you need a little extra help, when you feel your skin is a little bit more clogged then usual…hence it being a ‘deep’ cleanser. It works into a nice foam and makes your face tingle while it works, just incase that’s important to you. Definitely a great product if you feel like your pores clog up easily.

• Sudocrem (Superdrug £2.49)
Ahh sudocrem, where would I be without you. I’ve used this so much in January, and in the early years of my life when I had eczema that I’m surprised I havent built up an immunity to it by now. It’s just an all round product. There’s nothing this can’t do…other then make me look good when I leave it sitting on my face…having big white dots on your face just isnt a good look for anyone. I will always be thankful of this product.

• Anew Vitale Day & Night Cream (Avon £14.00 each 😓 I know…I just wait for the special offers!)
I’ve actually been using these since about March 2017. It’s very on and off though, seen as I’m very forgetful when it comes to applying them…even if they’re right next to me I still forget. However on the weeks when I use these religiously I can tell a difference. According to Avon, the guideline age to start applying these is 25 (I started using them at 23) but I figure you can never start to early if you want to look good at 75 still. The only thing that hurts me about this is the price of them (I’m tight I know) but like I say I keep my eyes peeled for the deals!

So they’re the range of beauty products I’ve used on my face so far in 2018, the only thing I havent really found is a product for dark eye circles (not a necessity, but always a desired product) so if anyone has any suggestions for those please feel free to leave them in the comments. Thanks for reading!

My hair saviour!

Ok so for me there’s not many hair products that impact me that much that I keep going back…but Aussie, now this is something I will always go back to.

I first discovered Aussie when I was at Uni. My hair was very damaged due to dyeing it so much since I was 13, to the point where ‘good condition’ was a distant memory. So being the girl I am (who had recently received her student loan), I went to Boots and basically picked up anything I could in the hope of restoring my hair’s health. Hair masks, deep conditioners, hair oil…basically anything and everything. Among these products was my hair holy grail! The Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstructor.

So basically after trying most of the other products and having very little results, I decided that this product would be the next I tried so one day after work I decided to chuck some on my hair while it was still dry and sit with it on for about 10-15 minutes. Best. Decision. Ever. My hair felt so much better already! It only took a couple more times to get it back to a good condition, and it felt amazing.

However that wasn’t the most impressive rescue mission from this product. The second time, it saved me from the Blue lagoon (I know the saying is the black lagoon but I literally mean the blue lagoon…in Iceland). Anyone who has been to the blue lagoon, knows that if you get your hair wet it can damage it…massively. Its something to do with certain levels in the water being high which causes your hair to stiffen, and therefore you should use loads of condition when you get out…which I didn’t do, as I was unaware of this at the time. Anyway so as soon as we got home I basically did the same thing that I did while I was at university, and hey presto the miracle that is Aussie prevailed again!

So basically this is now my go to hair product, and I would personally recommend it to anyone!

Best Beauty Buys Of 2016 So Far…

Ok so we are nearly half way into 2016, and so far you know its had its ups and downs, BUT on the shopping front its had a LOT of up’s. So here’s a little list of my best beauty buys of 2016 so far (Yes this is going to be a very girly blog, also these purchases were mainly made in the UK).

IMG_82541. Oral B 3D White Toothpaste – This is a necessity of course. Everyone needs toothpaste. And if you don’t …well you’re a little bit weird. Anyway a few weeks ago I was on the look out for a new toothpaste that made my teeth look whiter and this is what I got. In my opinion the whiteness has improved quite a bit, not to the extent it would if you went to get them professional whitened but still good.
*This was £2.00 on offer at Tesco’s (love a bargain).*

2. Bore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser – I’ve been IMG_8255
using this cleanser for a few months now, mainly to take my make up and give my face more of a deep clean. I love it, even the tingley feeling when it’s on my face. Definitely makes my skin feel better after a long day.
*£3.50 at ASDA (also on offer).*

3. PS Cleaner Brush – This comes in handy with the previous purchase. It’s so easy to use! It can feel a bit rough at first…but once it’s fully wet and the products on it, it glides nicely over your face.
*£1.00 Primark*

4. Soap and Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion – WhoIMG_8257 doesn’t want ultra soft skin? This is perfect and smells amazing! I normally apply it straight after the shower to absorb as much moisture as possible, essential when you have eczema prone skin!
*£10.00 Boots. But they normally have offer’s on like two for the price of three, or buy one get one half price.*

5. Lush Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion – They offer these at the till, and they are perfect to just carry around in your bag. It smells amazing and it’s very moisturising. What more could you want?
*£1.00 Lush.*

IMG_82526. Avon Planet Spa Face Masks – I love face masks! On an average
week I will use them about once or twice whenever my face needs alittle extra pampering. At the moment I favour the Perfectly Purifying Mud Mask one, as it dries up any spots that may be trying to surface.
*Roughly around £3.45 Avon.*

7. IMG_6936Essence Gel Nail Polish – I stumbled upon these while taking my mum shopping. They are really cheap and have a nice glossy finish to them. The only downside is with the amount of washing up I do at work the polish doesn’t last very long.
*£1.60 Wilkinsons.*

IMG_82588. Kiko Smart Lipsticks – These are such great lipsticks! Great Pigmentation, great lasting power, great price and easy application for us
women who don’t find applying lipstick that easy. Overall I’ll definitely be buying some more in the near future! *£3.90 Kiko*

IMG_82619. Wet n Wild Lipsticks – I’d heard about this brand before but never had the chance to try it out, as this brand isn’t available in the UK. However when I was in Mallorca I noticed them, and I’m so glad I did. Ever since I bought it, it’s been a part of my daily make up and I love them! The last most of the day depending on what I’m eating, but I really don’t mind re applying it if it comes off.
*€2.99 This was purchased in a beauty shop in Mallorca, however you can buy them online too.*

IMG_825910. Hema Soft Matte Lip Balm – I actually purchased this in the Amsterdam store, however I do know we have one down in london. This lip balm is so nice on the lips, it has a great colour and it is very moisturising which means its perfect in the winter months when your lips need a extra bit of protection. I can’t wait to go down to London and get some different colours.
*£4.75 Hema.*

I hope you liked this blog as It’s a bit different to my normal ones, I will be doing a part two to this blog focusing on the best fashion buys of 2016 so far, so I’ll see you then!

Brace yourself…Autumn is here!

I love Autumn. You still get some warm days, but other days you can pull out your beanie hat and not have to worry about doing you hair…at least I don’t. Anyway there are a few things I always like to do and stock up on as soon as Autumn hits…so without further ado here it is!

  1. A Haircut – I know this is a monthly thing to have done but as soon as Autumn hits, I get the urge to do something different with my hair. Last year it was putting in a full fringe, and this years I’m thinking about changing the length to a bit shorter than I’ve normally been…although I do think I’d like to have my fringe put back in…maybe next month.
  2. Hats – These are one of the best inventions ever in my opinion. They keep your ears warm, hide the bush that I call hair, make you look cute…occasionally. What more could you want!
  3. Fluffy Socks – Come on. Who doesn’t already have these! Even if it’s not cold I wear these, but in Autumn I NEED them. They’re great with boots, and even better when snuggled under a blanket watching a film and eating chocolate…anyway.
  4. Lip Balm – this is definitely a necessity! Who wants dry lips? Especially with eczema. Not good, so even if it’s not that cold I have to prepare for colder days.
  5. Boots – This is actually one thing I hate about autumn, having to find a good pair of boots. It’s just so hard finding the right height so your legs don’t look fat, the right heel size, the right colour ugh so many different specifications! But once you find ‘THE’ pair, your autumn outfits are complete!
  6. Moisturiser – this definitely applies to me because like I said earlier I suffer with eczema. So again you have to be prepared. You have to look after your skin as much as possible before winter hits, especially your face!
  7. Films/TV programs – This is where Netflix is brilliant! As soon as autumn hits it’s as if I’m permanently in my PJ’s from the moment I get home from work. And what better way to entertain myself than having a film fest! There’s a full list of films I’ve wanted to see but never got round to, so autumn gives me the perfect chance to do this!
  8. Tights – I love Jeans but jeans only look good so many days in a row, and of course it’s too cold to wear dresses or skirts bare-legged so the solution is tights! Warm, fluffy, thermal tights!

That’s just a basic list of my necessities from Autumn anyway, I’m sure there’s plenty more that I’ve forgotten! Anyway Bring on the cold!!!
